OBITUARY Maurice Gene Gaut August 5, 1937 – December 27, 2018 Celebration of Life services for Maurice Gene Gaut, 81, will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Pine Crest Funeral Home with Reverends Robby McPeak and Stan White officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Pine Crest West Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama. The family will be receiving guests for visitation Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Pine Crest Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.

Maurice was born August 5, 1937, in Nauvoo, Alabama, to the late William Lester and Lillian Cheatham Gaut and was called from this earthly home December 27, 2018, in Mobile, Alabama. He served this grateful nation by enlisting in the United States Army for two years with an E5 ranking. Maurice provided for his family as an elevator mechanic with Bagby Elevator with thirty-seven years of dedicated services.

He was an excellent carpenter and loved to travel. Maurice was a strong Christian and leader at Tillman’s Corner Church of Christ and served as treasurer and the song leader for over thirty years. He will be remembered for the wonderful husband and as a great father.

Left to cherish the wonderful memory of Maurice will be his beloved wife of sixty years; Donna L. Gaut, two sons: Keith Gaut and wife Leslie, Richard Gaut and wife Vonnie, five grandchildren: Justin Maurice Gaut and wife, Rachel Collette Gaut, Victoria Lynn Gaut, Kayne Brumbelow, Hayes Williamson, Sr., three great-grandchildren: Cooper Allen Gaut, Mya Lien Simmons, Hayes Williamson, Jr., along with many extended family member and numerous wonderful friends. Honoring Maurice as pallbearers will be John Gaut, Scotty Gaut, Eric Gaut, Brian Sanders, Ken Gaut and Drew Woodrow. The family would like to express their warmest gratitude to all of the church family, friends and everyone who had a part in Maurice’s life.
