OBITUARY Maury Duff Peck March 8, 1959 – July 16, 2018 Maury Duff Peck was born on March 8, 1959 and passed away peacefully on July 16, 2018. Duffy had a big family that loved him dearly. He was close with each and every one in his family and made us all laugh hysterically.
He also had a deeply personal relationship with not only his mom, brothers, and sisters, but every niece and nephew as well. He made sure each and every niece and nephew know how proud he was and how much he enjoyed their company. Nobody had any doubt that Duff loved and adored them.
If you worked with Duffy, he felt you were family. He enjoyed and loved everyone he worked with and brought enthusiasm and fun to every person he met. He graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in viticulture.
His greatest joy was the ranch. He was so proud of it and loved farming. He was an excellent farmer and winemaker.
He loved tasting the wine and sharing it with friends. Anyone who visited the winery would be made to feel comfortable and no one was going to leave hungry or thirsty. Everyone who knew him whether a new friend or somebody he knew his whole life felt they were his best friend and they were!
There was nothing insincere about him. If you were his friend, he would treat you like family. He had a great mind and had a passion for learning and reading.
He loved collecting books on history, cooking, and the valley. He was also an excellent skier and a pretty good golfer! Duffy’s greatest asset was his ability to love.
He was beloved and he loved the church. He was a great Christian and dearly loved God and he deeply loved his neighbor. He didn’t have the ability to hate a single person.
Although our hearts are shattered and life seems a lot less fun, none of us would have traded a single moment with him. Here’s to you Duff! We can’t wait to see you again.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, Sumner Peck Jr.; brother, Patrick Peck; nephews, Johnny Hopkins and Corey Peck; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Russell Giffen; paternal grandparents, Sumner Peck Sr. and Goldie Peck; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
