Maxie Vern Lucas passed away on June 13, 2018 at her home at Cowan, Ky. She was 80 years, 2 months, and 25 days old at the timeof her passing. She was born March 18, 1938 to the late Marion and Virgie Hampton Gilley and had one brother, Charles Gilley who preceded her in death.

She married Richard Lucas on August 6, 1955. They were married 58 years and to this union were born five children. Three sons: Ricky Lucas (Sherry), Keith Lucas( who also preceded her in death) and Shane Lucas (Kathy) Two daughters: Vickie Collins ( Jerry), and Rhonda Stidham ( Jimmy).

Maxie leaves 12 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren, whom loved her very much. Her family shares many memories of trips to the lake, going to yard sales, and home cooked meals. We are now comforted in knowing she is home in heaven with our Saviour Jesus Christ, and also Richard and her family who were waiting for her there.
