Obituary of Maximino Solis Maximino Solis “Maxie”, age 77, of Sterling, passed away March 7, 2019 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center surrounded by family. Born November 2, 1941 in Rio Pierdras, Puerto Rico to the late Maximino Solis, Sr. and Maria Solis. At age one his family moved to New York City where he grew up.

In 1975 he moved to Virginia where he worked as a Maintenance Engineer at Grady Management from 1975 until his retirement in 2008. He was a devoted father that loved to shuttle his daughter to her dance classes and singing lessons and coach his son in baseball and football. Maxie loved all sports but the Redskins, Yankees, and Nationals were his favorite.

Always the life of the party, he loved cooking, entertaining, and to Salsa with his beloved wife of 56 years Lydia. In addition to his wife Lydia Solis, he leaves to cherish his memory his son Michael, his grandchildren, Anthony Solis, Zachary Hoepfl, Alexandra Hoepfl, Dominic Solis, and Max Solis, as well as his brother Carlos Solis. In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Solis Hoepfl on February 9, 2003.

Mass will be at 11:00am on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Sterling, VA. Reception to follow. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the family and friends for their love and support as well as the Doctors and Nurses who helped Maxie along the way.
