The younger among you cheered me just by your presence, do continue to be so sweet. The example I tried to set was that the burdens you must carry are intended to make you stronger, so you can endure longer. If for only a moment I improved your life I am satisfied.

With tht said it is time to let me go. Shed those tears if you must but celebrate my life with trust that I feel satisfied at last. I was born on March 27, 1936 in Portland Oregon to Vergil Edwin Whisler and Maude Flor Swaim Whisler I graduated from Evergreen High School, Vancouver, Washington in 1955.

I married William James Diehl on October 25, 1957. He presently lives in Hoquiam, Washington. Our first child, William John Diehl, lives in SeaTac, Washington.

Our second child, Medina Ella Brenneman lives in Hoquiam, Washington with her husband Joseph. Our third child, Phillipp Edwin Diehl lives in Lacy, Washington with his wife Amanda; and our forth child, Kristina Louise Schaeffer, lives in lake Milton, Ohio with her husband Richard. These children gave me ten loving grandchildren and additional step grandchildren.

The number of great grandchildren astonishes me. If we count the children of the step grandchildren, it exceeds two dozen. The day came when Bill and I retired.

It was as if we were reborn with new freedom. Over the next 18 years, we were freer to do as we chose than ever before. We found family research along the way which fit right in with another desire we had which was travel.

We traveled to 29 states to research our families. Travel is not a requirement of family research, but each makes the other better. Stand in a Pennsylvania corn field once farmed by a great great grandfather can be an exhilarating experience.

But a person like me can have too much of a good thing so we stopped traveling for a time in New Mexico just to soak up some sun As our lives became more difficult, we found the need to be close to family so late last year we returned to the familiar surroundings of Grays Harbor. No that the date of my passing, April 27, 2019, had come, please hold me in your heart as I held you in mine.
