Mel’s Obituary Mel G. MacFarlane age 74 of Lansing, IL, formerly of Roseland, passed away March 18, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife Pat (nee Beireis) MacFarlane. Loving father of Tim MacFarlane and Carrie MacFarlane.

Cherished grandfather of Nicholas. Mel was preceded in death by his loving parents Mel and Mae MacFarlane, sister Nancy, brother Glenn and fond pets; Sammy, Macxie, Missy and Terry. Funeral services for Mel will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL at 4:30 PM with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating.

Cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until time of service. Mel was a successful entrepreneur, he built his own business Mac’s Critters and created and designed many fishing lures for 35 years.

Mel was accomplished in competing in Bass Fishing Tournaments around the country. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Mel was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.

He was loved and admired and he will be truly missed.
