She was born May 19, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Robert Brandon and June Sims Meese. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Fayetteville School System, was a Christian and attended Fellowship Bible Church in Fayetteville.

Melinda enjoyed arts and crafts, antiquing, and volunteered at the Salvation Army and at Highlands Oncology. She was a beloved Mother and the “Best Mimi” in the world. She was preceded by her husband, Vincent Alan Beers, in 2017.

She is survived by two daughters: Cassondra Beers of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Emily Upton and husband, Tyler, of Rogers, Arkansas; two sisters; and granddaughter, Charlotte Upton. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
