Melissa C. Massengale, 43, of New Castle, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born August 12, 1975 in Utica, NY a daughter of David Robert and Robertta (Crill) De Mattio. Melissa was a 1994 graduate of Holland Patent High School in Holland Patent, NY and attended college in Utica College in Utica, NY.
She was a phlebotomist when she lived in New York. She enjoyed music, nature, spending time with her entire family, painting and all kinds of art. Melissa also loved animals and had a good sense of humor.
Her family includes her husband, Jeff Massengale of New Castle; children, Chalimar Lynn DeMattio,( who preceded her in death), Kimberly Kay Massengale of New Castle, Isaiah Lee Massengale of New Castle; her mother, Robertta Crill of Prospect, NY, brothers, David (Candace Rene) DeMattio of Whitesboro, NY, Darrick DeMattio of Prospect, NY, and a sister, Jo-Elle Crill DeMattio of Prospect, NY; a special nephew, David DeMattio of Whitesboro, NY, nieces, Gracie Carter and Chaylynn Turney, both of New Castle, and nephew, Josiah Carter of New Castle; several in laws, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her daughter, she was preceded in death by her father, David Robert DeMattio. At Melissa’s request, there will be no public services.
