Melissa Prastina February 17, 1953 – February 28, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Memorial services for Ms. Melissa Rene Prastina, age 66, of Tuscaloosa, AL will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Locklear Memorial Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, AL with Reverend Chad Adams officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:30 until 4:00 prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Prastina passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 surrounded by her family at her residence in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a lifelong member of Locklear Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the Mt. Vernon Historical Society.

Her hobbies included going to estate sales and collecting antiques. She was always helping out her friends, family, and neighbors when they were in need. She is survived by her daughters, Robin Adams (Marty) of Tuscaloosa, AL and Misty Black of Mt.

Vernon, AL; three grandchildren, Marlee Black, Easton Avant, and Aubree Black; four sisters, Deborah Turner of Double Springs, AL, Karen Burge of Saraland, AL, Sharon Powell (Sammy) of Mt. Vernon, AL, and Sarena Davis (Ray) of Panama City, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Hearn and Gwen Lowery Hearn; her husband, Michael Prastina; and her sister, Darlene Hickman.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Comfort Care Hospice, especially Arielle Ingram, RN, Pastor Scott Peters, and Markeisha Lewis, RN who was such a great blessing through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Melissa Prastina to The Alzeheimer’s Association c/o Robin Adams 1228 Manora Estates Dr. Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.
