Hardin Jr., Mellwood, “Woody”, 63, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 with his family by his side. He worked for AAA of KY for 15 years as a fleet driver. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.

He loved his music, guitar, singing, walking his dog, visits to the flea market and most of all fishing and cheering for U of L. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mellwood Sr. and Virgie Hardin; sister, Betty Ashby; brothers, Johnny Shofner, Eddie “Fuzz” and Ricky Hardin and his companion and fur baby, Sadie. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hardin; sons, Billy Sears, Clifton (Angela), and Clayton Hardin; daughters, Shirley (Shawn) Hardin and Peggy Sue Hardin; siblings, Jimmy and Shirley Hardin. Susie Begley, Rosie Davidson and Lucy Scruggs; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren on the way; many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019, 2:30 p.m. at Ratterman Keenan Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road from 11 a.m. until service time. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mellwood “Woody” Hardin Jr. please visit our Sympathy Store.
