Obituary of Melvin “Mel” McFarland Melvin “Mel” McFarland Age 65, of Posen, IL, and formerly Joliet, IL, died suddenly, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Metro South Medical Center, Blue Island, IL. He was born January 15, 1953 in Joliet where he was raised and educated, a graduate of Joliet Central High School, Class of 1971. Mel is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Judy Cortese McFarland; Mother Marilyn (Nee Travillion) McFarland.

Mel was preceded in death by his father, John McFarland. Mel retired from Commonwealth Edison in 2018 after many years of service as an electrician. Funeral services for Melvin “ Mel” McFarland will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds.
