Melvin S. Cole, age 77, passed suddenly on June 25, 2018. Son of the late Alexander Cole and Clara Sadler Cole was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on July 31, 1940. Melvin was educated in the Reading public school system and later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Melvin met the love of his life, Ruth Robins of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 45 years ago. From then on, they were inseparable until the day God, in his infinite mercy, called him home to the Promised Land on Friday, June 25, 2018. Melvin worked at Wrigley Nut Products for 30 years and never missed a day.

Melvin loved to walk his dog, Sunshine, ride his bike, play dominoes and was a true fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Melvin was a long-time member of St. Gabriel’s Parish where he spent many Sundays worshiping and praising his Savior Jesus Christ. Melvin leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Ruth,; two daughters, Justine and Sherry; two sisters Josephine Rahming and Marquitte Sweet; one brother, Carl Cole; He was preceded in death by his sibling, Carolyn Cole, Morris Cole, Freddy Cole, Eugene Cole, LeeRoy Cole, Donald Cole, Ernest Cole , and William Cole.

He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relative and friends. Melvin will be truly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Gabriel’s Church, 29th & Dickinson Streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19146 where friends may call 9:00 – 10:45 A.M. at the Church on Friday also.

Interment Fernwood Cemetery.
