Merete Feldbek Nielsen Sueoka, 83, resident of Glynn Taff Assisted Living Home, Catonsville, Maryland, died Sunday, March 3, 2019, following an acute illness. She was born November 1, 1935 in Canada and became a naturalized US citizen in1956. Merete’s parents, Margrethe Sophia and Rev.

Niels Harald Nielsen, and Merete’s brother, John Feldbek Nielsen, predeceased her. Merete is survived by her sister Miriam Feldbek Nielsen Stacks (husband Sam) and her brothers David Feldbek Nielsen (wife Fran) and Philip Dan Nielsen (wife Frances), numerous nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Merete committed her life to serving others through more than 30 years of teaching in Baltimore inner city elementary schools.

She was a devout Christian and enjoyed witnessing to others through volunteer hospital visitation ministry. Merete embraced her Danish heritage with multiple trips to her parent’s homeland, Denmark, and by sharing Hans Christian Andersen stories and songs with her many nieces and nephews. Merete will be truly missed by her loving family and friends.
