Merina McGee Smith returned home to her Father in Heaven after a battle with brain cancer on May 2, 2019. Merina was known for her big heart and was loved by everyone who knew her. Despite the challenges, Merina always had a smile on her face and always stayed positive.

Merina was born in Provo, Utah on April 29, 1970 and graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1988. Merina married the love of her life, Michael Lynn Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 18, 1990. She is survived by her husband Michael; their four children, Kadie Nelson (Marcus), Melissa Jenco (Jesse), Morgan Smith and Melanie Smith; her parents Joseph and Ruth Joyce McGee; her seven younger siblings, Elizabeth Miller (David), Janalee Collett (Chris), Taunya Huff (Brad), Joseph Don McGee (Winter), James McGee (Esche), Nancy Ewoldt (Mark), and Jonathan McGee (Bethany); their grandchildren, Kayloni, Maya, Maliyah, Marcus and countless nephews and nieces.

Services will be held on May 11, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Eagle Mountain Utah Ward building at 4561 Buckboard Street. Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
