Cramer, 87, of Sellersville, PA; formerly of Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Grand View Hospital. He was the loving husband of Arlene (Sine) Cramer for 66 years. Merle was born in Silverdale, PA to the late William Cramer and the late Edith (Shaffer) Cramer.

He graduated from Hilltown High School, class of 1946. Merle served as a gunner’s mate in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a service manager for the former Keyser Miller Ford, now known as Ciocca Ford, in Souderton.

Merle then worked as a custodian for the Souderton Mennonite Home, until retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 245 in Sellersville, PA and Generations of Indian Valley (SAAC) of Souderton, PA. Merle was a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as a former head usher for many years.

He enjoyed walking, gardening, word search puzzles, and watching wrestling on TV. Merle also enjoyed traveling both nationally and internationally, annual family trips to Canada, and cruising and bus trips with his wife. He was a caring, compassionate, honest, patient man who was a real handyman and was always willing to help others.

In addition to wife, Merle is survived by his two daughters, Diana Lynn Camasso of Hatfield, PA, Nancy Lynn Boyer & husband, Ronald of Sellersville, PA; three grandchildren – Cortney, Joseph, & Jenna; his great-granddaughter – Hannah; his four sisters, Naomi, Lois, Mary, Esther; and his two brothers, Reuel & Paul Cramer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Ruth and his brother, Robert Cramer. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at The Community at Rockhill, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, Pennsylvania 18960, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.

An inurnment will take place in the Spring of 2019 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Benevolent Care Fund c/o The Community at Rockhill, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA 18960.
