Obituary for Merribelle Jorgensen Merribelle (Clabaugh) Jorgensen, 93, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Kearney County Health Services in Minden. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church south of Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating.

Private family interment will be held prior to services at the Fredericksburg Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Merribelle was born on January 4, 1925 in Guide Rock, Nebraska to Henry and Emma (Campbell) Clabaugh.

She received her education at Guide Rock and later attended Kearney State Teachers College. She was united in marriage to William Jorgensen, Jr. on February 8, 1948 in Minden. She taught school for many years in the Riverton and Holdrege area.

Merribelle was a member of the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church, the Danish Brotherhood and the Lions Club. While Merribelle and Bill were dating, they enjoyed roller skating. Many people enjoyed watching them dance on their skates.

She was also the Valedictorian of her senior class. The last thing she said to her family was: “Goodnight, I Love You”. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Michael Jorgensen of Minden, Douglas Jorgensen and wife Tammy of Hastings; daughter, Pamela (Jorgensen) Donley of Minden; daughter-in-law, Connie Jorgensen of Minden; son-in-law, Richard Pesek of Heartwell; 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill in 2014; daughter, Debra Pesek; son, William Jorgensen, III; son-in-law, Thomas Donley; two grandsons, Daniel Joseph Donley and Daniel Thomas Donley; brothers, Clement Clabaugh, Henry Clabaugh and Leo Clabaugh; sisters, Irene Pursley, Marjorie Pursley, Grace Candland, Alice Warren and Jean Beardslee; sisters-in-law, Adelia Clabaugh, Marian Clabaugh and Margaret Clabaugh; brothers-in-law, Clyde Pursley, Vester Pursley, Ralph Candland, Arthur Warren and Wilfred Beardslee. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Guide Rock, or to the Fredericksburg Lutheran Cemetery Association. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
