Obituary for Michael A Hammond Michael A. Hammond, 68, of Willoughby, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at his residence. Born March 5, 1950, in East Cleveland, he had been a lifelong Lake County resident.

Mike was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and member of Palmer-Roberts American Legion Post 214 in Willoughby and Willoughby V.F.W. Post 1500. He was an avid baseball fan, loved all Cleveland sports, and enjoyed golfing and playing darts. Mr. Hammond was a retired employee of C.E.I., where he had worked for more than 38 years.

He was the father of Rachel Berde; loving companion of Donna Seitz; dear brother of Patrick A. (Melissa) Hammond, Josanne Kovaleik, Kevin E. (Cindy) Hammond, Mary Brigid (Susan Radbourne), and Timothy J. Hammond; and an uncle and great-uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Kathleen (nee Hagan) Hammond. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave.

(located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
