Michael Andrew Balogac, age 69 of Xenia, OH, a former long time Toronto resident, passed away suddenly Monday, May 20, 2019. He was born December 21, 1949 in Steubenville, OH the son of the late Andrew J. and Bethel (Smith) Balogac. Michael was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Toronto; was a member of 36 years of the Toronto Volunteer Fire Department; served at the Toronto Emergency Medical Services for 17 years and was a 1967 graduate of Toronto High School.

He retired as a licensed practical nurse at the Weirton Medical Center. Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Ghrist. Michael is survived by his wife, Nellie Diane (Melnick) Balogac whom he married November 10, 1972; daughter, Diana L. McCoy of Wellsburg, WV; son, Michael C. (Kristy) Balogac of South Solon, OH; brothers, Andrew (Tammy) Balogac of Toronto; John (Marsha) Balogac Leesburg, FL and David (Terri) Balogac of New Braunfels, TX and a sister, Phyllis (John) White of Empire, OH; grandchildren, Triston Dobson, Shane McCoy,, Rhiannon Scott, Kate Wilbert, Kira Baker and Christopher Balogac.

He also leaves behind his baby girl (dog) Shilo. Visitation hours for Michael will be held 5-8 Friday, May 24th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto. Additional visitation will be held from 9-10 Saturday at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Toronto followed by a Funeral Liturgy with Mass celebrated at 10 A.M. with celebrant Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti.
