Michael Jeffrey Licht, 52, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, surrounded by his family. Mike was born July 20, 1966, in Iowa City, Iowa. After graduating from high school in DeWitt, he went on to attend NW Iowa Technical College heavy equipment operators course, graduating in 1986.

Mike worked in the construction industry his whole adult life. He enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, welding, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Pentland of DeWitt, and father, Jeffrey Licht and wife, Sheri of Winter Wisconsin; siblings, Suzy Ziegler and her daughter, Olivia of DeWitt, and James Licht of Grand Mound; many extended family and friends as well as the Trudeau/Hunter families.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life is pending at Wapsi Willy’s, DeWitt, to be announced at a later date.
