Vasold May 17, 1952 – December 17, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Vasold, Michael C. “Mike” Freeland, Michigan Passed away unexpectedly Monday evening December 17, 2018 at his home in Freeland at the age of 66 years. Mike was born May 17, 1952 in Saginaw, MI to the late Frederick E. and Irene A. (Bauer) Vasold, he has resided in this area all of his life. Mike was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Detroit Lions, Tigers and NASCAR.

Mike loved spending time with his family, whether it was fishing, riding on the family’s pontoon boat or deer hunting. While spending time with family and friends, Mike always enjoyed having a beer or two with them. Mike enjoyed working in his yard, especially when it came to mowing his lawn.

On March 3, 1972 Mike married his best friend and love of his life, Deborah A. Wachowicz, she survives him. Mike is also survived by his children; Christopher (Kandy Gunther) Vasold of Midland and Stacy (Eric) Smith of Bay City. A granddaughter; Kolleen, two brothers; Phillip Vasold of Saginaw, Dale (Cindy) Vasold of Kremmling, CO, a sister; Faye (Paul) Emmendorfer of Chesaning, a brother-in-law; Dale (Johnice) Wachowicz of Saginaw, a sister-in-law; Gina (Bob) Wachowicz of Gladwin and many loving nieces and nephews also survive Mike.

Two brothers; Tom Vasold and Jim Vasold have predeceased Mike. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 20, 2018 at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, Freeland, MI. Rev.

Robert G. Schmidt will officiate. Per Mike’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St. Freeland on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Covenant Foundation, Saginaw or the donor’s favorite charity.
