OBITUARY Michael “Mike” Dixon King, Sr. August 30, 1938 – December 11, 2018 Michael “Mike” Dixon King, Sr., passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, surrounded by his family at his residence in Gonzales from complications of cancer at the age of 80. Born August 30, 1938, he was a member of the National Guard and retired from Ciba-Geigy/Syngenta. He was a long-time resident of Gonzales and Baton Rouge.

He loved playing music, golf, sports and traveling with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Madelyn Louise King and their children, Sabrina King, Jana King Landry, Mikail K. King, Joshua C. Hall, Emily D. Richardson, Caleb C. Dixon; his brothers and sister, Charles M. King, Sr., Chandler C. King and Victoria King Mitchell; his grandchildren, Lauren Sullivan, Chelsea Landry, Colbi Landry, Chesney King, Londyn Dixon, Lawson Dixon, Lily Richardson, Lila Richardson, Savannah Hall and Cody Hall; and his great-grandchildren, Giuliana Sullivan, Connor Sullivan, and Beau Sullivan.

He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Dixon King, Jr.; parents, Charles McVea King, Sr. and Cora Dixon King; his sisters Jacquelyn King Villar, Kathleen King Landen, and Diane King Oliver. Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church of Gonzales on Saturday, December 15, 2018, 9:00 am until services begin at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memories in Gonzales.

Pallbearers will be Charles M. King, Jr., Chandler C. King, Mikail K. King, Joshua C. Hall, Tyler R. Villar, Caleb C. Dixon, David H. Richardson and John W. Lanehart. Donations to The Myeloproliferative Neoplasm Research Foundation (www. mpnresearchfoundation.org/) can be made in Mr. King’s honor.
