Michael P. Klatka was born on August 17th, 1956 in New Castle, PA to Michael J. Klatka and Pauline (Zedick) Klatka. He passed away suddenly on October 8th, 2018 in St Petersburg, FL, where he had resided for many years. He graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and spent many years as a freelance graphic and commercial artist as well as the art director at several agencies in St. Petersburg.

He was employed as a painter at TradeWinds Island Grand Resort on St. Pete Beach. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Kennedy) Klatka and her children, Peter Petrides, Stephanie Heaney, and Sean Mele. He also leaves behind his former wife, Rebecca (Murphy) Bray and their son, Adam M. Klatka and his wife Jennifer, and a grandson, Grayson K. Klatka.

Michael is survived by his sisters, Jan Kozlowski and her husband Don of Awendaw, SC, Carolyn Reynolds and her husband Jerry of Niceville, FL, and his brother Tom Klatka and his wife, Ferri of Roanoke, VA, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Michael was predeceased by his father and mother, his niece, Jodi (Kozlowski) Dixon, and brother-in-law, Brian O’Loughlin. A funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at 9:00 am at St. Therese Byzantine Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL, followed by a gathering in the church social hall.
