Michael’s Obituary Michael “Sarge” Sargeant, 54, of Brewerton passed away peacefully on Friday surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, he was raised in Liverpool graduating from Liverpool High School in 1983. Mike was a Design Engineer and employed for 35 years with Schnieder Packaging Equipment in Brewerton.

As a kid, Mike was a fan of racing at Oswego Speedway. Growing up in the Clay area, he met Dan Soule, a friendship that lasted a lifetime. He joined the # 32 Soule Racing Team and was an integral part of the pit crew.

He spent hours not only working on cars but developing lifelong friendships. Sarge would help the team doing anything that was asked of him. He was a member of the ISMA.

Sarge was also known for his love of Chows. Along with his wife Cindy, they started Chow Chow Rescue of CNY. Mike was also an avid Buffalo Sabres fan.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Cynthia “Cindy” L. Stone of Brewerton, son, James “Jay” Sargeant, daughter, Megan M. Sargeant both of North Syracuse, adored grandson, James William Radford IV, his father, James (Karen) Sargeant of TN, mother, Beverly R. Hurst of Cicero, NY, three sisters, Laurie J. Groover of AZ, Christine (Alex) Sargeant-Vermillion of Liverpool, NY, Christine M. (Peter) Krell of Bridgeport, two brothers, Timothy Sargeant of TN, Daniel Hurst of Memphis, NY, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville. Funeral services will be on Tuesday morning at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
