Mildred Lucille Houston, 92, of Franklin, passed away May 14, 2019 in Brevard, NC. Mildred was born in Jackson County, NC to the late Isaac Buchanan and Estella Tramham Buchanan. Mrs. Houston worked and retired from Blue Bell / Burlington Mills.

She also was a member and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church when she was able. Mildred is survived by her son, Larry Houston and his wife, Julie of Brevard; two sisters, Nancy Turpin and Mary Ann Cowan from Sylva; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mildred is preceded in death by her late husband, Harley Vernon Houston; two sons, Mitchell Houston and Danny Houston; three sisters, Essie Jones, Maggie Buchanan, and Viola Buchanan; two brothers, Robert Buchanan and Russell Buchanan.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm prior to the service at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and Crematory. Pallbearers will be Brian Houston, Jeff McCall, Ethon McCall, Tyler McCall, T.J. Hedden, and Lowell Buchanan. Online condolences can be left at www.
