Mildred’s Obituary Mildred Phala Willis Honea passed away January 31, 2019, Fort Worth, TX. She was born on January 22, 1929 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to Monroe and Vivian Crawford Willis. She married Charles Raymon “Chuck” Honea on January 4, 1948.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, James R. Willis. She graduated from Blevins High School, Blevins, AR, in 1946 and attended William Jewel College. After moving from Arkansas to Freeport, TX, in 1956, they then moved to Lake Jackson, TX, in 1957.

She attended First Methodist Church of Lake Jackson for many years, then later became a member of Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Lake Jackson. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years. In the 70’s she combined her love of people and houses and became a realtor for Harold Cox Realty in Lake Jackson.

Mildred loved traveling, square dancing, playing the piano, singing in her church choir, crocheting, and china painting, but most precious to her were her family and friends. She was known to leave her grandchildren’s tiny finger prints on the sliding glass door long after the children had gone home. She loved the laughter and discussions with family and friends around the dinner table; discussions and laughter that lingered for hours and still was never long enough.

Visitors have often commented that Mildred made them feel so comfortable and at home that it was like actually being home. She is survived by three sons, Richard W. Honea and his wife DeeDee Honea of Bandera, TX, Ron Honea and his wife Susan Honea of Fruita, CO, and Steve Honea and his wife Ann Honea of Weatherford, TX; one brother, M.E. “Sonny” Willis, of Angleton, TX, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Marlbrook Baptist Church, Blevins, Arkansas.

Burial to follow in Marlbrook Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Hope, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to His Love or Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Sunrise of Fort Worth Assisted Living for their love and attention to their “Honey Bee”.
