Milton Simpson Flournoy, Jr. was born in Jackson, TN to Milton S. Flournoy, Sr. and Bessie Lee Greer on February 22, 1936. He departed life on February 21, 2019 with his devoted wife by his side at the Methodist Hospital, Southlake Campus. Milton graduated from Mary High School in TN.

It was there that he met and then married Dorothy Triggs on November 26, 1954. They soon relocated to Indianapolis, IN. Though their union did not last, from this union five children were born.

Milton was always a hard worker and gave 19 years to FW Woolworth in Indianapolis, IN. Not long after he was introduced to Leanna Irving by a mutual friend and the two were married on July 11, 1970. Milton secured employment at Inland Steel in Gary, IN in 1972, where he worked for 27 years until his retirement in 1999.

He gave his life to Christ and was baptized by Reverend KB Long at Mount Herman Baptist Church. There he worked as a Sunday school class leader for 10 years. Milton leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Leanna of 48 years of marriage; one daughter, Pamela Flournoy-Sisco; three sons, Milton S. Flournoy III, Clyde A. Flournoy and Jerry A. Flournoy; grandchildren, Courtney J. Flournoy of Mesa, AZ, Milton S. (Katherine) Flournoy, IV, Victoria Flournoy, II, Frederick GQ (Brittany ) Flournoy, Jerry A. Flournoy Jr, all of Indianapolis, IN, Rayvin Flournoy of Fayetteville, NC and Malachi Flournoy of Indianapolis, IN; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Estella Wilson; one sister-in-law, Mary Griffin; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by this parents, Milton S. Flournoy Sr., Bessie Lee Greer and son, Frederick Q Flournoy. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Chapel at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408. Burial will be at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Hobart, IN.

Milton will be dearly missed by his loving devoted family and precious friends. God Grant Him Eternal Peace.
