Obituary for Minnie Hazel Kuhlers Minnie Hazel Kuhlers, 94, of Rockwell, IA died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Rockwell Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with a one hour prior visitation on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, 303 Monroe Street, Rockwell, Pastor Travis Stevick will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Dumont Cemetery.

Minnie was born on September 20, 1924 in Dumont, IA to Harm and Florence (Van Osten) Folkerds. She attended Dumont Community Schools. Minnie worked for Hampton Care Center as a nurse’s assistant.

Minnie was united in marriage to Donald Ragsdale on January 2, 1950, to their union, one son Russell James Ragsdale was born. The couple later divorced. On June 18, 1976, she was united in marriage to Raymond Kuhlers in Rockford, IA.

Minnie and Raymond did a lot of traveling together and wintered in Florida for many years. Minnie enjoyed playing cards, especially 500, with family and friends; gardening; and listening to music. She was very active in the Rockwell Senior Citizen Center and the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by brother, John (Esther) Folkerds; granddaughter, Robin Ragsdale; daughter-in-law, Pauline Ragsdale; 4 step-children: Donna (Larry) Olsen, Le Roy (Virginia) Kuhlers, Allan (Janice) Kuhlers and Cheryl (Greg) Lukehart; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kuhlers; son, Russell Ragsdale; parents, Harm and Florence Folkerds; and two sisters, Etta Kuhlers and Marie Bryan. In expression of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the Rockwell United Methodist Church.
