Obituary for Miss Mary Ann “Aunt Nan” Hendricks Aunt Nan Hendricks Six Mile, SC Mary Ann Elizabeth (Aunt Nan) Hendricks, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. Born in July 7, 1930 in Pickens County, Mary Ann joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She was a daughter of the late James B. and Bertha Skelton Hendricks of Six Mile.

Mary Ann was a life long member of Kings Grove Baptist Church. She began her nursing career in 1947 at Six Mile Hospital. She also trained at Shriners Hospital in Greenville was a nurse at Cannon Hospital for over 30 years, and was a nurse at Harvey’s Love and Care.

A renowned cook, quilter, and crochet devotee, Mary Ann traveled the world, Far East, Europe, South America, as well as the United States. Her concern for those around her was a hallmark of her life both in the church community as well as within her family and for her many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings, Lloyd Benjamin, Wallace Cecil, Margie Jean, a sister in law, Barbara Galloway Hendricks, and a niece, Rebecca Ann Lasater.

She is survived by brothers, William Ray (Julia), James Benjamin, David Clayton (Phyllis), and John Thomas (Anne) along with 11 nieces and nephews; Rusty Hendricks, Ed Grant, Paula Stinnett, Kim Wilson, Lauren Moore, Alan, Eric, and Mark Hendricks, Jane Whitmore, Kelley Bayne, and Katie McCranie. The family would like to thank Nan’s special friend Helen Holder for her love and dedication over the past several years along with the caring staff’s of Lila Doyle Nursing Center and GHS Hospice of the Foothills for the excellent care, attention, and love shown to Aunt Nan during her stay. Funeral services to honor the life of Aunt Nan will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at King’s Grove Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday following the service in the Fellowship Hall of King’s Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to either Kings Grove Baptist Church, 1335 Old Seneca Road, Central SC 29630 or GHS Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca SC 29672.
