Moses Long, age 74, of Holstein, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center of Cherokee. There will be no services. Burial will be at a later date.

The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein is in charge of the arrangements. Moses Long was born March 8, 1944 in Greensboro, AL to Enoch and Willie (Woods) Long. He graduated high school in New Bern, AL before joining the Army and serving for four years.

Moses worked as a machinist at Twin Disk in Racine, WI retiring in the mid 1980’s due to poor health. He was united in marriage to Sue Belson in Cedar Falls, IA on September 8, 1990. The couple has resided in Holstein, Iowa for the past 12 years.

Mo was a member of the Holstein Country Club and was proud to have gotten several holes in one there. He also enjoyed showing Border Terriers with Sue. He is survived by his wife, Sue of Holstein, IA; sons, Corey Long and Darryl Long, both of Racine, WI; brothers, Robert Long and Enoch Long; sisters, Rosie (Long) Davis, Barbara and husband David Griggs and Annie (Long) Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lula Roberts, Ruth Long, Irene Richardson, Isabella Denison and Eva Mae Jones.
