Graveside services for Myra Renae (Teehee) Ward-Harry, 70, of Skiatook, were held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Dale Nielsen officiated. Myra was born February 21, 1948 in Skiatook, OK to Charles H. and Hazel Ellen (Gaylor) Teehee.
She went to be with our Lord on February 1, 2019 at her home in Skiatook, OK. Myra was born and raised in Skiatook and attended Skiatook Public Schools. She moved to Turlock, CA where she lived, married and raised two daughters, Dena and Jennifer.
She moved back to Skiatook and has lived there for the past 20 years. Myra had been ill for several years but seldom complained. Her faith in God led her to praying and reading scriptures.
The “Jabez” prayer was a favorite and also, “God is our refuge and our strength”. (Psalms 46:1). Myra continued to stay positive even though she had constant pain.
She suffered the loss of her husband, Bill and her daughter, Jennifer, within a year of each other and both were unexpected. Her worst heartache ever, Myra told her sister. A quote that Myra used often was, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain”.
Myra loved and wrote beautiful poetry, and learned bead work and made beaded purses, helping carry on her parents’ tradition with her sister. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden and working on various crafts. Myra’s family gifts were always individually wrapped with her special touch.
Her gift baskets were unique and spectacular. Myra retired from work with disabilities and adjusted to providing full-time care to her husband and family. Though her pain was constant, her motto was still “to do something for someone else”.
Baking or cooking a meal to share with others helped her strive for that bit of joy in her day. Myra loved her pets, cats, dogs, a cockatiel, birds of the air, and the beauty of delicate butterflies. She had an appreciation of life for all the things around her.
Myra once told her sister that she meditated while working in her flower garden, that it kept her grounded. Then she quoted an old poem” One is Nearer God’s heart in a garden, than anywhere else on earth”. She then referenced her dad, Charles’ favorite song, “In The Garden” and wondered if any of us remembered that.
Myra has left us with so many thoughts and beautiful memories. There are no words to describe how much Myra is loved and admired by all her family. She was always faithful, strong, and dependable as she struggled through and survived her many heartaches and trials.
Myra will remain the same bright, shining light in the hearts of our family as she was in life. She is survived by her daughter, Dena Seidel of Skiatook; granddaughter, Addie Kelley; brothers, Houston B. Teehee of Tulsa and Robert Teehee of Skiatook; sisters, Remona White of Skiatook and Cheryl Teehee of Turlock, CA; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family in CA, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Harry; daughter, Jennifer Ward; parents, Charles and Hazel Teehee; brothers, Charles Allen Teehee, Lloyd J. Teehee, and Dale C. Teehee; sisters, Shala Ruth Teehee, Evelyn Jacobs, Marguerite McClellan, Odessa McCullough, Lee Thompson and Vickie Cope.
