Obituary for Myrtle Christine Pittman Knowlton Myrtle Christine Pittman Knowlton was born July 8, 1921 in Rosston, Arkansas. She went to be with our Lord on Monday July 23, 2018. She died at her home in San Antonio.
Her parents were both from the Killeen area. Her Mom, Gladiola Herbert Pittman had been a telephone operator in Copperas Cove and her Dad, William T. Pittman became a bookkeeper after attending Tyler Commercial College. But her Dad really wanted to be a farmer, and moved the family to Arkansas and she was born there.
She started work in Waco in civil service at James Conley AFB and later at Kelly Field in San Antonio, sewing uniforms and pup tents for the military. She loved the Lord and her husband and family very much. She enjoyed painting landscape scenes and writing poetry.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband John Knowlton, by her sister Christabel Griffin and husband Isadore, Bill Pittman and wife Lorene, Norman Pittman and wife Laverne, and brother John Pittman. She is survived by daughter Patricia Morgan and husband Robert Morgan, granddaughters April Morgan, Lauren Morgan Torres and husband Johnny Torres. And by many very special nieces and nephews and many close family members of her husband’s family as well as church friends from University Baptist church.
Special thanks to caregiver Chelsea Pineiro and Nurse Paul Boensh. All these she loved dearly. And we all loved and will miss her so much.
Visitation Thursday July 26 from 6 to 8 and funeral service Friday July 27 at 10 am at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North on Cherry Ridge with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park North.
