Myrtle’s Obituary Myrtle Hall Sandlin, 88, Branford, FL passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019. The O’Brien, FL native was born to Albert Alford Hall and Annie Lee Hall on January 31, 1931 in the O’Brien, FL community. The A.A. Hall family lived and worked in Gilchrist County and the Branford/O’Brien communities where the patriarch was a sharecropper.

She was a member of Fort White Church of Christ. After birthing six children, she returned to night school and earned her high school diploma at Branford High School on June 1, 1960. She and her husband of 70 years, Roland M. Sandlin, were poultry farmers for Gold Kist for 27 years.

As a devoted wife and mother, her “lamp [did] not go out at night” (Proverbs 31:18). In Branford and surrounding communities she was a servant to many- an election poll worker, preparing and delivering meals in her home for guests, or delivering food to sick neighbors, Secretary/Treasurer for the Santa Fe Cemetery, Inc. and offered her help to funeral home laborers at that cemetery. Mrs. Sandlin is survived: four sons: Albert (Charlotte) Sandlin, Mascotte, FL; Sonny Sandlin, Branford, FL; Daryl Sandlin (Benita), Branford, FL; Virgil Sandlin (ChaRue), Cedar Key, FL; two daughters: Pam Thayer {Ron), Branford, FL; Pat Lindsey {Ben), Branford, FL; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Starling {Manuel), Branford and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Saturday, March 9, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at the Santa Fe Cemetery near the Hildreth community with Mr. Kent Heaton of Brooksville, FL officiating. Santa Fe Cemetery 5.
