Mrs. Myrtle Lee Taylor Walker, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, May 3, 2019. She was a daughter of the late Harvey Troxler and Nellie Jones Troxler and was born in Lenoir on October 7, 1944. She was a faithful member of the Marion Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she served her Lord as a Deaconess and a greeter but she further served cheerfully as a custodian of the church facility along with others in the church body.

Her generous nature was exemplified by the self-sacrificing way she lived her life for others. Her giving benefitted not only her immediate family but many of her friends as well. She was a hard worker, whether providing delicious meals for her loved ones or tending to her homemaking and gardening, she did all of her chores with a joyful disposition.

Myrtle Lee loved her family, friends and church family and she will be deeply missed. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 28 years, Homer Walker; four children, Kenny Taylor and wife Lecia of Beech Mountain, Janie Cannon of Beech Mountain, Janet Taylor of Gastonia, and Mark Walker of Johnson City, TN; her brother, Jerry Troxler of Plumtree; and two grandchildren, Daniel Cannon and Zoey Walker. A service of Remembrance and celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Marion Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ron Davis officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Marion Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 188 Ward Drive, Marion, NC 28752.
