Obituary for Nancy Ballard Nancy Lee Ballard, daughter of LeRoy Zimmerman and Lena Farber Zimmerman was born September 21,1942 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and passed on from this life Friday, April 27, 2018 at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon, Iowa at 75 years of age. Nancy received her education in Wiota, Iowa where she graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to LaVerne Obermeier in 1959 and four children blessed this union, Kevin, Michael, Doreen, Brad.

Later in Nancy’s life she was united in marriage to Marion Wayne Ballard and they were blessed with a daughter, Jennifer. Nancy worked for many years at the Champlain Truck Stop in Osceola before she changed careers. She went to work at Furnas Electric in Osceola where she worked many years and eventually retired in 2004.

At an early age, Nancy was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Wiota, Iowa and attended there throughout her childhood. Nancy loved family get together’s and dinners. She enjoyed shopping trips and visits to the casino as well as a few games of Bingo.

She especially enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, working with her computer tablet, and watching old western movies. The relatives who preceded Nancy in death were her father, LeRoy Zimmerman, mother, Lena Zimmerman, sister, Janelle Thompson, nephew, Dale Hansen, Jr., nephew, Justin Huddleson, and great-nephew, Casey Joseph Zimmerman. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory; children, Kevin Obermeier of Woodburn, IA, Mike Obermeier of Osceola, IA, Doreen (Mike Hespen) Obermeier of Marne, IA, Brad (Suzanne) Obermeier of Indianola, IA, Jennifer Ballard of Weldon, IA; Grandchildren, Brian (Brandie) McWilliams, Corey Obermeier, Darren Obermeier, David Obermeier, Kelsey (Demetrius) Frazier, Brett Obermeier, Jacklyn Obermeier, Elizabeth Obermeier, Great-Grandchildren, Bradlie, Braydie, Gabriel, Lillian, Sophie, Dallas, Austin, Audriana and Lane; brother, Bernie Zimmerman of Scott City, KS, sister, Melva (Dale) Hansen of Scott City, KS, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
