Nancy Lee Wood Saunders July 27, 1926 – April 30, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Memorial Donation Nancy Lee Wood Saunders, age 92, of Charlottesville, Va. died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace in Charlottesville. She was born on July 27, 1926 in Crozet, Va.

to the late Homer A. and Ora B. Wood. Mrs. Saunders is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Richard P. Saunders and her siblings, Margaret Sandridge, Josephine Wheeler, Sarah Irvine, William Wood, Homer Wood and Page Wood. Mrs. Saunders was a graduate of Crozet Hill School and Jefferson School of Commerce.

She was a member of Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church for many years. She is survived by her sons, Ronald K. Saunders of Palmyra, Va. , Richard L. Saunders and his wife, Betty of Barboursville, Va.

; granddaughter, Valerie S. Brown and her husband, Nathan of Lebanon, Va. and great granddaughters, Abigail Brown and Clara Brown. Mrs. Saunders funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Albemarle Baptist Church at 1685 Roslyn Ridge Road, in Charlottesville, with Pastor Nathan Brown officiating.

Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Hill and Wood Funeral Home at Charlottesville, VA.
