Nancy Lynn Leitch Major, 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Nancy moved to Montgomery County in 1972 from Russellville, Kentucky, she was a member of the First Christian Church and a retired legal secretary for Tyke Bryan. She also enjoyed; fishing, past Sunday school teacher and one of her biggest passions was being a curator for the Kentucky River Museum in Boonsboro where her grandfather was the Lock Master at Lock #10. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and church family.

Survivors include; one son, Chris Major (Paige) of Naples, Florida; two grandchildren, Laurel Major and Blaine Major, both of Naples, Florida; six cousins, Jenmarie Sowers, Joanne Allen, Martha Ann Riggs, Becky Plummer, Ron Richards and Doug West; two special friends, Becky Woodard and Linda Yarborough; her beloved cat, Daisy Darlin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Major and her mother, Mary Katherine McCauley. Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00PM.

Visitation will be prior from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at First Christian Church. Pastor Scott Holley will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Kentucky River Museum.
