Obituary for Nathaniel Ryan Carter Reidsville: Nathaniel Ryan Carter, 24, passed away on June 10, 2018 doing what he loved. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor Steve Lattimer officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at Donald and Stacy’s home (1231 Sandy Cross Road).

Ryan was born in Rockingham County and was employed with Junior Loye Tree Services. From his early days in motocross, he discovered the thrill of living on the edge. Ryan was determined and became a courageous and fearless tree climber.

He was a hardworking young man and loved his family, especially being a dad! Ryan was an avid sportsman, including trapping, hunting and fishing and always enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ann Oliver James; his paternal grandparents, Robert Philip and Carol Walker Carter.

Ryan is survived by his son, Kamdyn Ryan Carter; his mother, Cheryl Barham and husband, Jeff; his father, Donald Carter and wife, Stacy; brothers, Caleb Carter and wife, Nicole, Dustin Barham, Chevy Barham, James Barham, Luke Carter, Philip Carter and soon to be sister, Lydia Carter; grandparents, Donnie and Debbie James, David Rowland, Gracie Rowland and Betty Barham all of Reidsville; special friends, Dennis Fields and Ryan Todd; and his mentor, Robert Rogg (Tree Experts).
