Ned C. Seachrist, 72, of Johnson City, New York. went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center. He proudly served this country in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

Ned accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior in the Fall of 1974, and he served in various ministries in several different churches over the years. For the last eight years, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Johnson City, where he was an adult Sunday School teacher and led a prayer group on Wednesday evenings. Ned was a spiritual mentor to many over the years.

He was an avid fly-fisherman and gardener and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He especially loved being with his grandchildren during his retirement years. Ned loved to laugh and to make others laugh.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Lillie, and by his brothers, John and Roger, and sister, Germaine. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Cindy (Hartranft) Seachrist; sons, Brian (Stacy) Seachrist and Joel (Shannon) Seachrist; sisters, Flora, Gloria, Joan, and Ruth; grandchildren, Jacob and Lily; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no formal funeral services at this time and the family will announce plans for a celebration of Ned’s life in due time.
