OBITUARY Nettie Dierlam Avary Williams February 27, 1931 – October 24, 2018 Nettie Dierlam Avary Williams was born Feb 27th, 1931 and passed from this life on Oct. 24th, 2018 after a valiant fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis for the last two years. Her love for our country was evident in the work she chose; as a Civil Service Employee at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, at Fort Benning, Georgia, as well as at The Army Arsenal in Rock Island, Illinois.

Her courage and determination provided such inspiration for her family. She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Floyd Avary of Columbus, Georgia and Bill Williams of Houston, Texas, as well as by her daughter, Lynn Ellen Harkrader of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She is survived by her two sons, Phillip Avary (Nicole) of Columbus, Georgia and Mark Avary (Janette) of Brewton, Alabama and by her loving companion, Otto Schrieber.

Her eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild give promise in taking her legacy of life forward. As a sixth generation Texan, and avid genealogist, her family stretches far and wide. She was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, Jamestowne Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, The Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, National Hugenot Society, National Society Ladies of the Thistle, Order of the Descendants of the Ancient Honorable Artillery Company and the National Society of the American Colonists.

Her passion for this country and its majesty was reflected in her love of birding and as such she had joined Volksmarch to hike across most of the 50 states in the U.S.A. She was indeed the backbone of a beautiful American family and she will be treasured for her strength forever. Services will be held in Seadrift, Texas at the Dierlam Family Cemetery at 1pm on Monday, October 29th .

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the San Antonio Colony Society of Mayflower Descendants. FAMILY Floyd Avary, Husband Bill Williams, Husband Lynn Ellen Harkrader, Daughter Lonnie Dierlam, Father Cloma Talevich Dierlam, Mother Rose Mary Sanders, Sister Phillip Avary (Nichole), Son Mark Avary (Janette), Son Otto Schrieber, Loving Companion David Dierlam, Brother She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and daughters in her heart, Eileen Keller and Annette DelCid to cherish her memory.
