Nickie Jean Saunders March 31, 1942 – January 18, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Nickie Jean Saunders, 76, died January 18, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born March 31, 1942, in Scott City, to Raymond A. and Juanita P. (Piros) Frank. Nickie graduated from Offerle High School and Hutchinson Community College.

She worked for Western & Southern Life Insurance Company and then as a Residential Trainer/Supervisor for TECH for over 20 years before retiring. Nickie was a life-time member of DDR, a unique organization devoted to the preservation of America’s great Western heritage, having served as vice-president for a few years. In 1969, she married Sonny Saunders in Wichita.

He died September 3, 2006. Nickie is survived by: daughters, Marquita Fahrney of South Hutchinson and Kendra Wallace and husband Robert of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Day of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael Fahrney.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
