Harold Eugene Washburn June 20, 1945 – February 25, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences Harold Eugene Washburn, 73, of Hutchinson, died February 25, 2019, at his home. He was born June 20, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Robert G. and Bertha L. (King) Washburn. Harold graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1963 and attended Fort Hays State University, Hutchinson Community College, and Kansas State University.

He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Harold worked in the experimental lab at Cessna, the Parks Department of the City of Hutchinson, and retired from Kansas Department of Transportation. He loved wood carving, fishing, hunting, and gardening.

On July 16, 1966, Harold married Jeanette M. Roth in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years of marriage. She survives.

Also surviving are: nieces, Tina Fulton (John), Greensburg, Lori Reynolds, Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Anita Partridge (Bill), Fort Scott, Marsha Klassen, Buhler; several great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth Sies. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Casual dress is encouraged.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Delos V. Smith Senior Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
