Nicky Stephens July 13, 1950 – May 12, 2019 Nicky Stephens, 68, of Leland, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Born in South Carolina, July 13, 1950, a son of Opal Erlene Stephens and the late Henry Shepard Stephens, he grew up in Leland and was a graduate of Leland High School. He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Air Force and had worked for General Electric for 25 years.

Nicky was known for his love of bluegrass and “Good Ol'” country music. He loved camping and hiking in the Great Smokey Mountains with his daughters, and had sponsored several children through Children’s International. Nicky was a dedicated son and father who gave unconditional love.

Besides his mother Opal, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Brett Zeigler and Elisabeth and Andrew Casey, his granddaughter, Zoe Zeigler, his sister, Kathy Fulcher, and his brother, Eddie Stephens. A memorial service will be held on 3 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
