Nora Belle Wheeler Brown, 88, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 9, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. . A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Allie Fox Wheeler.

She was the wife of Robert J. Brown who died in 2010. . She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Robbie Jean Brown; a grandson: Joshua G. Brown; and, a brother: Isaac Wheeler.

Nora Belle loved the Lord and her church family. Surviving are her daughters: Judy Silvers (Morris), Louann Brown, Amy Brown and Angie Leach (Carl) all of Burnsville; a son: George Brown (Linda) of Kingsport, TN; a sister: Zula Mae Woody of Burnsville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great, great grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Andy Brown (Wanda) and Jerry Holcombe, both of Burnsville; and, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Saturday in West Burnsville Church of God, of which she was a charter member.

Revs. Randal Phillips and Eugene Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the West Burnsville Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 PM prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her and visited with her during her last days. A special thank you also to Hospice and Palliative Care of Yancey County.
