Norma Jean (Ehman) Moxley, 95, of Indianapolis but more recently of Avon, passed away on June 15, 2018. She was born on September 24, 1922 in Lane, Illinois to the late Raymond A. Ehman and Mary Gertrude Ehman Dodd. Norma was a 1940 graduate of Decatur High School (IL).

Upon graduation, she moved to Indianapolis and attended Lane Business College. After graduation, she was hired by Hoosier Cadillac in 1941 where she met her future husband. She married Raymond E. Moxley on June 28, 1942 and they were able to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary last June with a reception in their honor.

During her working career, she was employed by LS Ayres in the credit department and later with Ulrich Chemical Co for 18 years until retirement in 1987. She & Ray were active members of Southport Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. During this time, they served in many activities within the church.

She was a member of the philanthropic sorority, Phi Theta Delta, Alpha Chapter, for over 50 years. During this time, she served on many committees both for her chapter and at the state level. She and Ray enjoyed attending the state sorority conventions as well as Cadillac Crest Club Banquets dancing the night away with friends.

Norma enjoyed reading (later using talking books due to her vision restriction), tending to her flower gardens and taking care of her family and many friends. She hosted many family occasions at her home. Norma is survived by her daughters Barbara (Keith) Rector and Lynne (Russell) Brown; siblings Doris Jane Henson and John Ray Ehman; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ray Moxley (October 2017) and brother James Allen Ehman. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday June 20 at the mortuary.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. For those desiring to send a memorial contribution, the family has suggested they be offered to Indiana State Library-Indiana Talking Book & Braille Library, or to Southport Presbyterian Church-Missions.
