Obituary of Norma June Whetzel Norma June Whetzel, age 88 of Sugar Grove Road, Morgantown passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at her home. She was born October 27, 1930 in Hagans a daughter of the late James Meryl Yost Sr. and Thelma Pearl Armstrong. Norma had been employed as an operating room LPN at WVU and Ruby Hospitals.

She loved to read, embroidery and do word searches. She enjoyed gardening, especially raising flowers and also attended Kingdom EMC Church. Norma is survived by one daughter, Janice Suzanne Whetzel of Morgantown, two sons, Daniel Allen (Paula) Whetzel and Kevin Gregory (Valerie) Whetzel both of Morgantown, one sister Neva (Delbert) Stull of Clarksburg, one brother, John E. Yost of Morgantown, grandchildren, Steven Whetzel, Chad (Roxanne) Whetzel, Jeremy (fiancée Jenna Taylor) Whetzel, Josh (fiancée Heather Cricks) Keenan, Melisa (Claude) Sigley, Kevin Whetzel II, and Kyle Whetzel, and eight great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Ann Keenan, infant son, Joseph Clark Whetzel, and two brothers, James Meryl Yost Jr. and infant Jerry Armstrong Yost. The family requests donations be made to the Morgantown Special Olympics, 400 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 4-8 pm Thursday and on Friday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Matt Davis officiating.
