OBITUARY Norton Fitch Thompson May 16, 1936 – February 4, 2019 Norton Fitch Thompson, age 82, of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Edward Thompson. Norton grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from South High School.

He then worked as an electrician for 32 years with C & O Railroad. In his spare time, Norton loved to travel with his wife, Mary Lou and capture the moments with his camera. Norton will be missed by his wife, Mary Lou (Kinsman) Thompson; daughter, Mary Beth Thompson; son, David (Sue) Thompson; daughter, Carolyn (David) Szubinski; son, Tim (Jodi) Thompson.

Also surviving are grandchildren, David Jr (Theresa), Steven, Matthew (Julie), Lindsey (Daniel), Eric, Travis, Jacob and Abbi; and great- grandchildren, Gabriel, Griffin, Leona, Porter and Adelaide; sisters-in law, Sue Lenhart and Sally Smith; and brother-in-law, Wayne Lenhart. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Rosary will be at 7:30 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2275 Diamond NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Another time of visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral Mass from 10-11 am at the church.
