Novelda E. Martin, (nee-Nichols), 91, of Elyria passed away Saturday August 11, 2018 at the Lifecare Center of Medina following a brief illness. She was born January 27, 1927 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Novelda was a member of the Church of the Open Door where she was a former leader of the Ladies Bible Study and also was formerly the head librarian at the church library and enjoyed flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1995, sisters, Alice Gorr and Thelma Fulmer and brothers, Leroy, Robert and Ralph Nichols. The family will receive friends Thursday August 16, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.

Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League 8303 North Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria, OH.
