Odell Rhynehardt, Sr. was born on March 16th 1925, to Isaiah and Lovie Rhynehardt. Early in life he was added to Redland Church of Christ in 1941. He retired from Gravely Tractors.

He was united in marriage to Gracie Amos in 1945, and shared 70 years of marriage. He became the full-time minister of Glendale Church of Christ in Newton, NC, where he served for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors; farming, gardening, flowers, and landscaping.

He was known throughout the community for making delicious molasses. He was preceded in death by his wife and an infant daughter. He is lovingly survived by one son, Odell (Gwen) Rhynehardt, Jr.; two sisters, Gracie Carter and Dorothy Jackson; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2nd at 12:30 p.m. at Glendale Church of Christ, 915 Glendale street, Newton, NC 28658. The family will receive friends from 12:00- 12:30 at the church. Brother Andy Moss will officiate and burial will follow in Redland Church of Christ cemetery in Advance, NC.
