Olive V. (Steinke) Ardell, 94, 0f Plymouth passed away on Friday morning, March 1, 2019 at the Waterford of Plymouth. Olive was born on August 26, 1924 in Sheboygan County a daughter to the late George and Celia (Bartlet) Triphan. She attended the Ideal School in the Town of Mitchell.

On July 29, 1944 she was united in marriage to Jerome Steinke. Together they farmed in the Hingham area and also the Plymouth area. He preceded her in death.

On July 21, 1973 Olive married Edward Ardell, Sr. and he also preceded her in death. Olive enjoyed her family and playing bingo and 31 with her many friends at Salem Green. Olive was a longtime member of Salem United Church of Christ and was a member of the Greenbush Legion Auxiliary 261 for over 50 years.

Olive is survived by her daughters, Janice (Mark) Simmons of Plymouth and Barbara (Gene) Fiedler of Sheboygan Falls; her sons, Steve Steinke and Richard (Margaret) Steinke, both of Plymouth; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; stepsons, Edward (Darla) Ardell of Plymouth and Rick (Pam) Ardell of Redding, California and her former daughter-in-law, Christine. Olive is further survived by all of the extended Ardell families and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Steinke, a daughter, Judy Kelnhofer; a granddaughter, Michelle Wilterdink; her brother, Earl (Evelyn) Triphan; her sisters, LaVern Bonnett, Dorothy Mohsam, Marge Streubing and Gloria Kleinhans and members of the Ardell family.

A funeral service for Olive will be held 6 PM, Tuesday, March 5 at Salem United Church of Christ with Rev. James Hoppert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.

Family and friends may gather at the church, 217 Salem Dr., Plymouth on Tuesday from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM. Memorials in Olive’s name are preferred Olive’s family would like to thank the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the staff and residents at Waterford for all their care and compassion. They would also like to extend a grateful thank you to Susie, her special friend and caregiver at Salem Green God made a wonderful; mother, A mother who never grows old; He made her smile of the sunshine And he molded her heart of pure gold.
