Oliver’s Obituary Oliver Cleveland Thomas, 67, of Ionia, died Thursday, March 7, 2019, at his home. He was born on June 2, 1951, in Warsaw, Missouri, a son of Grover Cleveland and Eva L. (Young) Thomas. He moved with his family to Windsor, where he attended school and after his eighth-grade year, the family moved to the Palo Pinto area and then settled in Ionia in 1973.

He helped Lee Cutshall with auctions and John D. Friedley at the salvage yard in Ionia. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with old cars, listening to Tradio during the week and church services on Sunday, and loved being around kids. He had the ability to fix anything and his motto was “buy low and sell high”.

He is survived by four sisters, Patricia Beel and her husband Ray of Ionia, Ester Nation and her husband Ervin of Quincy, Francis Southard and her husband Joe of Ionia, and Sandra Brown of Lincoln; two brothers, Bobby Thomas of Ionia and Danny Thomas and his fiancé Elena Byrd of Ionia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Eva Thomas, a brother-in-law, Kenneth Brown, and a nephew, Jeramy Beel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Clear Creek Cemetery, near Lincoln, with Pastor Johnny Medlock officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp. Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.
